My Project: Electronic Circuit Boards for Kids' Club
"I have been leading 9 club members to teach STEM classes in San Rafael's Canal District every Friday since last fall. This year, I want to teach the children hands-on introduction to electronics by using electronic circuit boards. This kit contains over 60 color-coded, real circuit components that snap together to create working electronic circuits and devices.:

My Project: Books for Schools in Guetemala
"I will hold a bake sale to raise money for the Recuerdo a Barrios school district in Guatemala to buy new books and supportive classroom supplies. Spanish or bi-lingual books for all levels of readers are much needed at the small schools' libraries in Guatemalan villages."

My Project: Tour at Stanford Campus and Labs
"On October 19, 2015 we plan to take about 30 of the primary and middle school students we have been tutoring in the Canal District to Stanford University for a tour. While at Stanford they will also have the opportunity to observe some STEM lab work which is being conducted there as well as an extensive tour of the science and technology buildings."

"Since November, 2010 CiN has sponsored a 4-year-old boy, Idrissa, in Niger through World Vision. At that time Niger had suffered sever drought with a high infant mortality rate, over 11%. Now Idrissa is in school and wishes to be a teacher in the future."

My Name: Linda Li
"I am organizing a benefit concert dedicated to helping the earthquake victims in Nepal. The concert will feature CiN's 2013 president, Cherry Yuan from the Juilliard School and musicians from San Domenico Music Conservatory. The 7.8 magnitude quake on April 25, 2015 devastated thousands of villages and up to 90% of clinics and schools in some districts became unusable in Kathmandu, Nepal."

"This summer another CiN member, Christina Hong and I will volunteer at the Brain Health Care Center under Peking University Sixth Hospital for a week. Prior to our work, we will spend a week at the Shanghai Pudong Special Education School to learn about helping children with autism so we could provide the most effective services to these children"

My Project: Intern at Children's Welfare Home
"I will work as an intern at Guangzhou Children's Welfare Home this summer. The children there are mostly with mental or physical disabilities. The institute has helped them to receive adequate care and education. Some of them are successfully adopted by American parents. My job is to help these adopted children to prepare for the new environment by teaching them English and American culture. I will also play piano as a form of music therapy to heal the mind of these children."

"Since Jan, 2014 I have led 8 CiN members to engage 30 primary school kids in fun scientific projects every week. The goal is to promote minority students' interests in STEM related projects. The location is in San Rafael's Canal District, CA."

My Name: Daria Jackson
My Project: Summer School Program in Bosnia
"I will join 8 schoolmates with 2 of our teachers, Mr. Sethre and Ms. Hoefgen travelling to Bosnia-Herzegovina for two weeks in the summer of 2014. We will be teaching at a summer school program started 10 years ago by Mr. Sethre and Ms. Hoefgen. This program brings together children from two ethically divided schools. Also, we will be learning about the country's history, as well as its international affairs and human rights before and after their civil war."

"This summer I will be a teaching assistant at the Math/Science Camp led by a professor from Carnegie Mellon University. "I will teach English and American culture to a group of left-behind American children in Fuzhou, China this summer. About 10,000 children with American citizenship are now left behind in Fuzhou while their parents are oftentimes immigrants to other countries (primarily the US) who work low-paid jobs on foreign lands."

My Project: The Children's Village in the Philippines
"I will volunteer at the Children's Village operated by Bantay Bata 163, the child welfare arm of ABS-CBN Foundation. Bantay Bata 163 is a nationwide rescue and child welfare program which includes the popular 24/7 hotline number, 163, and the Children’s Village, a transitional shelter for the most extreme cases of child abuse, neglect and illness."

My Name: Annabelle Kronik
My Project: Immigrant Children in Israel
"I will be helping an organization located in Beer-Sheva, Israel. This organization was set up in order to assist with the matriculation and overall maturation of children of immigrant families in Israel. This program teaches kids mathematics, physics, and computer sciences. Since I am bilingual, knowing both Russian and English, I will be teaching Russian immigrant children."
