A Great Way to Spend Easter Evening!

Children in Need was honored to perform at Atria Tamalpais Creek in the evening of Easter Sunday. Members of the club, RJ Pearce, Cherry Yuan, Elena Kim, Mirah Ray and Caitlin Gowdy arrived at the facility one hour early to rehearse their pieces. Some residents were listening the rehearsal quietly in the room wondering what kind of music the club members would perform later on.
The program started at 6:00 pm with Cherry playing Massenet’s Meditation accompanied by Elena. Mirah then played a cello piece, Bourrées I and II by Bach. After these beautiful opening pieces, the concert brought the audience a rich variety of classical musical pieces such as Sonata for Violin and Piano by Beethoven, Violin Partita by Bach, Piano Sonata by Beethoven, Violin Sonata “Ballade” by Ysaye, Violin Version of “Amazing Grace”, Cello Suite “Prelude and Courante” by Bach and Navarra for Two Violins by Sarasate. Though the pieces came from different time periods, they were beautifully and energetically performed and presented to the audience.
After the concert, performers were greeted whole-heartedly by the audience. The residents told the performers how much they enjoyed the music and wanted the performers to come back soon. At the end, our club was invited back to perform again for the Mother’s Day event. The club decided to use the payment from this concert as part of sponsorship fee for the African boy in Niger.
